Ive always found it incredible when musicical genres morph and change even though they have pretty established bases structurally. Oi from its beginning seemed this way,but has grown, morphed, migrated,and broke down rigid thinking. The incredible strong,guttaral vocals that overlay this bands fluid sound is the best example. Add the power this music receives when done in the French tongue ( ha- ha - ha double entendre ) and Faction S. is clearly a MUST HAVE for anybody's collection who enjoys Oi!/Punk/HardCore/ Rock N' Roll / or French language music wrapped in SteelToes and carrying brass knuckles of the musical kind. I saw tons of great bands in the 80s at places like The Mabhuy Gardens, Thw Farm, and Gilman Street Project. Those bands had a sound and feeling that's hard to sum up--- they were Lo-Fi even thougb many were accomplished musicians,they were raw and crucial and provided a soundtrack for pissed off yourh who WERE going to be heard whether the system liked it or not----- sneak into the back entrance or kick in the door----- it didnt matter which. Condor sounds snd feels like some of the great 80s hardcore and punk bands that shaped the Punk/ Hardcore landscape of today. im not surprised-- this is a one man operation from the drummer of Rixe If you are into French Punk and Oi it is CRIMINAL not tp have this in your collection..
